Conversation with Rain ; Chapter 8 , IsoUpnishad

Rain , Let us pray.

OM Sat Chit Anada Par Brahma, Purshotma, Parmatma, Sri Bhagwati Sametha, Sri Bhagwate Nameh, Hari Om Tat Sat, Hari Om Tat Sat, Hari Om Tat Sat , Hari OM

Rain : Mother, What is the meaning of this prayer.

Neetu : Rain , this prayer is written in Sanskrit by a realized sage in ancient time, The meaning I translate for you as per my inner experience & my intellect. 

O Divine ! You reside in each being. In the temple of my body, I meditate upon your female & male form. Bless me so that I could merge with truth. By knowing truth one attains the goal of human life and possesses divine qualities. Then with purity and divine qualities we can know thou art & can witness the Supreme abode where souls attain Cosmic pleasure which is greater than all worldly pleasure as only it brings permanent peace & contentment.

Today I will tell you Iso Upnishad :

ईशा वास्यमिदं सर्वं यत्किञ्च जगत्यां जगत्‌।

तेन त्यक्तेन भुञ्जीथा मा गृधः कस्यस्विद्धनम्‌ ॥

Iso upanishad written by a realized soul in ancient time in Sanskrit. The first shaloka is advice for all human beings that the true renunciation is to renounce the lust from our mind. we should control our lust. We should not  keep any lust in mind for material things such as possession,money,belonging& for women/men, sex or sense pleasures. This all material objects are illusions & only for temporary usage. We need not to get attach with any material things. Attachment leads to action of attainment which produce lust in our mind.  If we kill this lust in our mind then only our mind may attain contentment and then whatever Lord gives us we will be happy with that. We get most of time envious by keeping an eye on material pleasures,belongings and this envy create desire in our mind to attain the same pleasure and to fullfill that impure desire we turn lustful. But We should focus to kill this lust if we want to stay happy. As soon as this lust to attain worldly possessions is killed in mind contentment arise.

What a brilliant advice given by sages and a short formula to attain permanent happiness but the question is how to kill the lust. The answer is only the ancient method of worship which is taught in Vedas & Bhagwat Geeta. Vedas, Bhagwat Geeta teaches to meditate. Vedas declare there is no greater method than meditation to worship the Supreme. When we regularly practice meditation with devotion slowly it kills our impure desires & demon qualities which are lust, jealousy, anger,pride. It does not happen quickly, It is very very slow path. with faith we have to practice and sit in our meditation with discipline & devotion. In Bhagwat Geeta this method of worship to Divine to bring divine qualities within and to merge with divine is explained in Chapter 6 from versus 10 to 14. It says we should select a clean tranquil place, by sitting in comfortable posture,we should try not to move our senses and should focus either on our breath or on tip of nose or in mid of eyebrow, One may keep eyes fully closed and gaze or one may keep partial open then gaze on tip of nose but this exercise in beginning is difficult so for beginners I advise to keep eyes closed. Only this simple exercise daily with devotion & discipline which takes may be 3 years t0 7 years for a very wise mind, more than 7 to 14 years for moderate mind and more than 14 years for febble mind. Now sometimes extreme pains, extreme desire for death, extreme desire to kill all desires & extreme detachment can bring this stage very quickly , may be in one or two years. But still after attaining too regular practice is required. 

So this was first shaloka which advice to renounce our lust, How we can renounce it , I have explained the path, which is only and only through meditation with discipline & devotion. There is no other path. Once lust is killed from our mind, it brings contentment for us. Now I go further on 2nd shaloka.

कुर्वन्नेवेह कर्माणि जिजीविषेत् शतं समाः।

एवं त्वयि नान्यथेतोऽस्ति न कर्म लिप्यते नरे ॥

In 2nd Shaloka of Iso Upnishad, Sage has revealed the benefit of killing the lust in mind. By practicing meditation slowly impure desires & lust get killed. When lust is killed from mind we only perform pure action as our mind discard impure desires. This way while staying in mid of society we perform our task which are sinfree. So this impure desire which was the cause of binding us in law of karma, as we killed the lust which cease the production of impure desires so we escape from the bondage of law of karma. We are liberated. Also impure desire produce disease in our body, once we cease impure desires in our mind, it promotes good health so we may live long happily & worry-free for more than 100 years.

कुर्वन्नेवेह कर्माणि जिजीविषेत् शतं समाः।

एवं त्वयि नान्यथेतोऽस्ति न कर्म लिप्यते नरे ॥

In 3rd Shaloka Sage has warned about those who do not practice the path of meditation. Sage has called them slayers of their own soul. They are sunless, in darkness who never realize the demon qualities within them which are lust, anger,pride, attachment. They will never be able to attain the divine abode where one receive cosmic pleasure,peace & contentment. 

अनेजदेकं मनसो जवीयो नैनद्देवा आप्नुवन् पूर्वमर्षत्‌।

तद्धावतोऽन्यानत्येति तिष्ठत् तस्मिन्नपो मातरिश्वा दधाति ॥

IN 4th Shaloka Sage has described that in the temple of our body, we have Individual consciousness , this consciousness can attain union with super soul. Only this abode is permanent and this is truth and reality, Rest all worldly things are illusion & impermanent. This stage can be attained by controlling the mind. Mind is more fleeter than air but by practicing meditation upon thee(Supreme) one may attain control on mind,He also understand the flow of his breath and able to control on his breath, With the control on breath & mind he turn the master of Life and by practicing this path he establish himself in the flow of Cosmic energy where he rejoice in ceaseless peace & contentment. 

तदेजति तन्नैजति तद् दूरे तद्वन्तिके।

तदन्तरस्य सर्वस्य तदु सर्वस्यास्य बाह्यतः ॥

In shaloka 5 , Sage has describe about Lord abode which is within us.  Soul our individual consciousness can travel upto super soul. Supersoul which situated at our top of head is the abode of Supreme. Soul & Supersoul both are located in the temple of our own body. Due to ignorance the Supreme abode is very far but if we attain knowledge then it is very near. Due to ignorance we know not how our soul can travel upto supersoul so it moves not but when we attain knowledge then this soul moves forward toward Supersoul which is the goal of human life. Due to ignorance we search the Lord outside and if we attain knowledge then we know Supreme is within us. 

यस्तु सर्वाणि भूतानि आत्मन्येवानुपश्यति।

सर्वभूतेषु चात्मानं ततो न विजुगुप्सते ॥

In shaloka 6 Sage want to describe that any seeker who by practicing meditation has attained union of soul his individual consciousness to Supersoul (Universal consciousness) , his anger,pride,lust get killed, His never hates any one, Gradually He turns fearless. he sees Supersoul part in each being. As we all being are whole (soul)  originated from a whole (super soul) 

यस्मिन् सर्वाणि भूतानि आत्मैवाभूद् विजानतः।

तत्र को मोहः कः शोक एकत्वमनुपश्यतः ॥

The one who has attained this union of soul with supersoul he has attained Knowledge of the Science of Soul which cease the effect of pair of opposite. Reaching at this stage where his soul travel from the bottom of spine and crossing the path from heart,chin,eyebrow reaches upto top of head to attain union with supersoul , there the pair of opposite such as joy/sorrow, honor/dishonor get ceased. His attachment get killed and without attachment he do not attain any pains as only attachment is the cause of all pains. 

स पर्यगाच्छुक्रमकायमव्रणमस्नाविरं शुद्धमपापविद्धम्‌।

कविर्मनीषी परिभूः स्वयम्भूर्याथातथ्यतोऽर्थान्‌ व्यदधात् शाश्वतीभ्यः समाभ्यः ॥

The one who attain union of his consciousness with Super Consciousness he witness the cosmic vision of Supreme which is formless,pure,unpierced  by evil. By this vision as whole merge in whole turn whole likewise the individual soul attains all divine  qualities. Attaining this stage one turn sinfree,pure,ceases pair of opposites,perfect,He realize I and his ego get killed. This science of soul is in existence from the beginning and by learning it one attains self Realization,which is goal of human life. 

अन्धं तमः प्रविशन्ति येऽविद्यामुपासते।

ततो भूय इव ते तमो य उ विद्यायां रताः ॥

In this 9th shaloka Sage is describing that due to ignorance who could not learn this science of soul (union of soul to supersoul)  they are in darkness but those who attained knowledge about this path still they did not practice or used these teaching for material benefits they are in more deep darkness. Here sage also warn to the fake guru of World who claim that they have attained divine fruit and start giving spiritual discourse and advises to the seekers & people but they have not witness divine abode yet, So sage has said that these kind of people are in deep darkness than those who has not gyana(knowledge). 

अन्यदेवाहुर्विद्ययाऽन्यदाहुरविद्यया।

इति शुश्रुम धीराणां ये नस्तद्विचचक्षिरे 

In 10th shaloka sage is describing that by listening discourse of the wise one,by reading books, or from any other sources attained knowledge is only theoretical. Until one donot practice the teaching of the wise one , one donot attain the true knowledge of this path. Only with self practice, self realization can be attained. Not by knowing or listening mere discourses or by reading books or scriptures. 

विद्याञ्चाविद्याञ्च यस्तद्वेदोभयं सह।

अविद्यया मृत्युं तीर्त्वा विद्ययाऽमृतमश्नुते ॥

The one who practice this path after attaining knowledge,he remove his ignorance and by practicing this path he attain wisdom which liberates him from the cycle of death. 

अन्धं तमः प्रविशन्ति येऽसम्भूतिमुपासते।

ततो भूय इव ते तमो य उ सम्भूत्यां रताः ॥

Those who do not worship one formless one , omniscient, One Supreme who reside within our own body,they are in darkness but those are in deep darkness who worship many other material Gods,demigods or others fakes sages for material benefits & sense pleasures. 

अन्यदेवाहुः सम्भवादन्यदाहुरसम्भवात्‌।

इति शुश्रुम धीराणां ये नस्तद्विचचक्षिरे ॥

When only our mind witness the union of soul with supersoul then only we are able to understand the Supreme stage. By this union only we attain Supreme intellect, by birth or by reading or listening discourse this knowledge can not be attained. This knowledge is described by wise one and by only practicing this path one can attain this knowledge. 

हिरण्मयेन पात्रेण सत्यस्यापिहितं मुखम्‌।

तत् त्वं पूषन्नपावृणु सत्यधर्माय दृष्टये ॥

This reality is covered and unknown to us. We may know this truth by practicing the path of meditation with devotion & discipline. This cosmic vision can be attained by practicing the teachings of the learnt one. This cosmic vision bestow peace,contentment & permanent true pleasure so to attain it you would need to attain union of soul with supersoul by practicing ceaseless meditation on divine. 

पूषन्नेकर्षे यम सूर्य प्राजापत्य व्यूह रश्मीन्‌ समूह।

तेजो यत् ते रूपं कल्याणतमं तत्ते पश्यामि

योऽसावसौ पुरुषः सोऽहमस्मि ॥

In meditation, you have to concentrate on the light behind your eyebrows, following that light of your body, you may reach to the cosmic abode. That Super consciousness is abode of Supreme where one attains peace :& contentment. 

वायुरनिलममृतमथेदं भस्मांतं शरीरम्‌।

ॐ क्रतो स्मर कृतं स्मर क्रतो स्मर कृतं स्मर ॥

It is our breath on which if we focus we can control on our breath, by control on our breath we can control on our mind & body, To attain this goal we should recite holy mantra, Recitation is the perfect means to attain control on mind,body which liberates the soul to attain union with Supersoul. 

अग्ने नय सुपथा राये अस्मान्‌ विश्वानि देव वयुनानि विद्वान्‌।

युयोध्यस्मज्जुहुराणमेनो भूयिष्ठां ते नम‍उक्तिं विधेम ॥

By practicing meditation, recitation of holy name, in the temple of your body, a Cosmic fire will produce, which will clean you, this fire will be painful & burning but it will burn all your impurity,it turn us sin free,it kills our all impure desires and will purify your breath and will clean the path for soul to travel upward. It teaches us to perform our action without desire of fruit. It bring control on breath and on the bridge of control breath our individual consciousness will travel and will reach toward our top of head and our soul will attain highest pleasure of cosmic energy which is above all material worldly pleasure, which gives us peace & contentment.
